ToastTab POS to Meta CAPI — closing the conversion loop for a restaurant.
Ignite Pizzeria needed a reliable way to send purchase signals from both in-store and online orders back to Meta. Their POS infrastructure runs on ToastTab, but no native ToastTab-to-Meta Conversions API integration existed in the Canadian market. RoiGuru built one.

Business context
Ignite Pizzeria operates in the Canadian market with both dine-in, takeout, and online ordering channels. The business was running Meta advertising to drive customer demand — but had no reliable mechanism to connect ad activity to actual purchase outcomes. Revenue happened in two places: in-store through ToastTab POS, and online through their digital ordering channel. Neither was feeding conversion data back to Meta.
The consequence was a fundamental attribution problem. Meta's campaign optimization algorithm was running without meaningful conversion signal — it could not determine which audiences, creatives, or placements were actually driving purchase activity, because that data was not being transmitted. Campaign performance was effectively flying blind on the conversion side.
The challenge
The specific technical challenge was the absence of a native integration between ToastTab and Meta's Conversions API. ToastTab is a widely-used restaurant POS platform, but in the Canadian market, no out-of-the-box ToastTab-to-Meta CAPI integration existed. Any solution had to be custom-built.
The requirement covered both transaction channels: in-store orders completed through ToastTab, and online orders placed through the digital ordering system. A partial solution — covering only online orders — would leave the majority of purchase activity invisible to Meta, since restaurant businesses typically conduct significant transaction volume in-store.
Beyond the ToastTab integration itself, the solution needed to handle deduplication correctly: ensuring that purchase events transmitted via CAPI were not counted twice if any residual browser-side signals were also present, as duplicate conversions corrupt campaign optimization data.
ToastTab POS (purchase events) → custom server-side pipeline → Meta Conversions API (CAPI). Covers both in-store and online orders. Bypasses browser-side pixel tracking entirely.
Implementation
RoiGuru designed and built a custom server-side integration pipeline between ToastTab and Meta's Conversions API. The integration captures completed sale events from ToastTab — both in-store and online transactions — extracts the purchase data including order value, and structures each event with the appropriate Meta CAPI payload.
Each purchase event is enriched with user match signals — hashed email, phone, and other identifiers where available — to maximize event match quality (EMQ) and ensure Meta can accurately attribute conversions back to specific ad impressions. Higher EMQ translates directly to better attribution accuracy and stronger optimization signal quality.
The pipeline was designed to operate independently of browser-side tracking, bypassing the iOS attribution limitations and ad blocker interference that affect pixel-based conversion measurement. Events are transmitted server-to-server in near real time, ensuring Meta receives conversion data with minimal latency.
Deduplication parameters were implemented to ensure clean data: where any browser-side pixel events existed alongside CAPI events, the deduplication logic prevented duplicate attribution, maintaining data integrity for campaign optimization.
Commercial impact
By connecting ToastTab sales data to Meta via server-side CAPI, Ignite Pizzeria gained a more accurate view of how advertising translated into revenue-generating activity. Purchase events that were previously invisible to Meta — including all in-store transactions — are now transmitted and attributed, giving the campaign optimization algorithm substantially better signal to work with.
The closed-loop setup gives the business a more defensible basis for advertising investment decisions. Rather than relying on proxy metrics (clicks, traffic, engagement), the business can now evaluate advertising performance against actual purchase outcomes — and allocate budget accordingly.
The implementation also creates a measurement foundation that scales with the business. As Ignite Pizzeria grows its customer base and advertising investment, the CAPI integration provides a consistent, reliable conversion signal regardless of changes in browser tracking environments or platform policy.
